Every ranking on Dubai Storage Rated is built from the same six-factor scorecard. We don't accept payment for ranking position, and we don't link with affiliate codes attached to commercial sites.
The six factors
- Price transparency (15 %) — Does the operator publish per-sq-ft tariffs on its website, or does every quote require a phone call? Published pricing earns full marks. Quote-only models lose 5–8 points.
- Climate control (25 %) — We verify the published temperature setpoint, humidity tolerance, and whether HEPA filtration is in use. Conservation-grade (constant 20–22 °C / 50 % RH / HEPA) earns full marks; loose "AC only" earns half.
- Security tier (20 %) — 24/7 HD CCTV, biometric or PIN access, on-site personnel, AI camera analytics on high-value tiers, alarm coverage and access logging. Premium tiers (private vaults, art) need restricted-access vaults to earn full marks.
- Pickup & delivery (15 %) — Included free with annual contracts = full marks. Optional add-on = half marks. Pure self-access = baseline.
- Insurance (10 %) — Included on contract = full marks; available as an add-on = half marks; unavailable = zero. Stated policy limits earn the most credit.
- Customer service & reviews (15 %) — Google reviews, Bayut listings, Trustpilot ratings and recent UGC mentions on Reddit and forums. We weight recency (last 12 months) over absolute count.
What we explicitly do not score
- SEO visibility or paid-ad presence
- Press releases or sponsored editorial content
- Affiliate commission rates
- The age of the brand (heritage is acknowledged in summaries but not scored)
How rankings are updated
We run a full re-score every six months, and lighter monthly checks for pricing changes. Every page shows the date of its most recent full review at the top of the article. If you operate a Dubai storage company and a fact is wrong, email editor@dubaistoragerated.com with a link to the corrected source and we will review.
